Lots of Controversy With Trusting Doctors
On the Today show they did a story on patients trusting their Doctor. About one in four patients feel that their physicians sometimes expose them to unnecessary risk, according to data from a Johns Hopkins study published this year in the journal Medicine. And two recent studies show that whether patients trust a doctor strongly influences whether they take their medication.
We are such an over medicated society that I am determined not to end up like my parents who are on 10 different medications. My mother doesn't even know why she is on some of them. At age 86 she informed me that she is going to discuss with her doctor the need for some of them. She has been reading about the liver damage that so many medications cause. I am proud of my mom.
When I went to review my lab results. The doctor informed me that my total cholesterol was 283, LDL (bad) was 215. He whipped out that prescription pad so fast my head was spinning! I said wait a minute...give me 3 months to get it down. He kind of chuckled and said sure...
Well 4 months later....after some modifications to diet, exercise and supplements. My total cholesterol 180, LDL 106.
I was willing to make some changes in my life. It really is up to you! You can become proactive about preserving the health you have.
I encourage you to find a doctor who combines prescriptions medicine with Natural medicine. I'm looking!
